Ms. Olesya Romashko

Olesya Romashko is a journalist, strategic communication professional, and Central Asia media specialist currently pursuing a PhD in Journalism at Swansea University, funded by the ESRC through the Welsh Graduate School for the Social Sciences (WGSSS). Her research focuses on journalism, democracy, media governance, and censorship in Central Asia. With more than 20 years of experience in journalism, broadcasting, media development, and international communications, she has worked across media, academia, and copyright policy. Olesya is a Chevening Scholar, IVLP alumna (U.S. Department of State), WIPO Scholar, and recipient of a prestigious and highly competitive WGSSS ESRC Doctoral Studentship.
