Dr. Emel Dikbaş Torun

Emel Dikbaş Torun is an Associate Professor and the founding Head of the Department of New Media and Communication at Pamukkale University, Türkiye. She received her PhD in Computer Education and Instructional Technology from Hacettepe University and conducted research at Purdue University with a research fellowship award. Her research focuses on new media, artificial intelligence, deepfakes, digital literacy, and learning with digital media. She led the establishment of the department’s dual diploma program with SUNY Cortland.
